Winter in Bryce National Park

Hey! So did we tell you we spent Chris’s birthday in Bryce National Park? It was absolutely gorgeous! Anyway, I just thought I’d share a couple pictures with you…

More on AZ.

So, have you been waiting anxiously for pictures and stories? (Thanks Lyn for getting me back on the ball). We made it so far south in Arizona that we got to go through some border patrols and wave at Mexico. We decided to celebrate with Mexican food! aka Roylance tacos. Here is Zach, munching with reckless abandon.

The pictures of the bridge was in Patagonia state park, and it was incredibly awesome! It started on the shore and then swooped up pretty steep to allow a sailboat to pass underneath. The incline was a lot steeper than most trails I’ve hiked! The best part of the bridge though, Kaisha, just imagine standing on the bridge in the middle of the night with the moon high above your head and reflecting in the water under your feet. It was absolutely beautiful.

And then we have a picture of Andrea, smiling victoriously with two new teeth! Hooray! For more pictures and stories, you can look at http://chrisandalison.name

I love you all!

oh yeah! Zach can do sommersaults! Chris put a video on this website: http://hiddenlightphotography.blogspot.com

New Year Resolution

Filed under: Lynmarie — Lynmarie on @ 10:52 am

One of Hector’s resolutions must have been to roll over because he can roll over now.  He can only roll from stomach to back, and in only one direction, but he is learning.  I have found, however, that since he has learned to roll onto his back he does prefer to be on his stomach some of the time.

Some crazy-fun in Las Vegas

Last night, we decided to have a pool party! I know it’s almost Christmas, but the weather is so warm here in Las Vegas…hahaha! Just kidding. It was an indoor pool party, in our bathtub. Chris, Zach, and I (Andi doesn’t know how to swim yet), put on our suits and splashed around. Zach loved it! Even though, as you can imagine, there really wasn’t much space for toys. Too bad we didn’t have a waterproof camera; it’s a memory worth remembering. And, it reminded me of a favorite poem (by Shel Silverstein):

There’s too many kids in this tub

There’s too many elbows to scrub

I just washed a behind

That I’m sure wasn’t mine

There’s too many kids in this tub!”

Let’s see, what else can I tell you? Zach is getting to be quite the busy boy. The other day I walked into the kitchen to find him perched on top of the microwave! I guess we shouldn’t have taught him how to rock climb, or maybe I should just move the cookie jar. Hmmm…move it higher? Ugh. I hate to picture the broken bones. Maybe I should just put it down on his level. He’d have one heck of a tummy ache, but at least he won’t be falling from great heights. Besides, Zach getting fat isn’t something I worry about currently.

Andi hit a huge milestone on Wednesday! She had her first bite of solids! (Well, aside from the M&M that Zach fed her). Of course, you have to ask the question, is mushy rice cereal really solid? But, it is a big step in the direction of steak, and thus it is very exciting. At first she wasn’t sure if it was really food, and so we dipped her pacifier into it, and let her suck the cereal off. Two days later she uses the spoon like a pro!

Andi loves to sing with us. Lately we’ve filled the house with Christmas carols. Can you guess their favorite song? Sometimes “Angels we have heard on High,” but most often, they LOVE “Alfie the Elf.” It is absolutely adorable to watch Zach sing the “UMMMMM” when Alfie hammers his thumb. Both Andi and Zach also love “Santa Caught a Cold.” Andi just giggles but Zach will try and sneeze along with the song.  I can’t wait to sing carols with everyone in Provo.

Oh and we have great news! Chris’s professor decided that Chris’s thesis proposal is ready to submit! Hooray!

A new perspective

A new perspectiveHey Derek, My kids have taught me to look at life through a new perspective! While some would consider this to be an ordinary dinner plate, Zach sees its true potential! A magic window coloring the world blue. Either that or he thinks he’s an astronaut with a cool blue helmet. He figured it out for himself. One moment he was helping me set the table, and the next minute he was smashing his face against his “window.”

My car was stolen?

Have you ever looked out the window and thought to yourself, “Hmm…something’s not quite right?” And then you realize that your car’s not there. But we just can’t believe that someone would steal it, especially on the same day that a mechanic was coming out to look at it. What are the chances.

Luckily our car wasn’t stolen. Our insane apartment manager had it towed. We don’t know why, and we have to wait till Monday to find out her insane logic. Stay tuned…her reasoning baffles the mind…

Well, onto funnier stories. Driving around Satruday night (luckily we have two cars), we see a car driving by with a Christmas tree.

“Oooh!” I say, “Someone’s decorating a live Christmas tree tonight!”

“Actually,” Chris replies, “I don’t think it’s alive anymore…”

“It will still be nice and green once they put it in water.”

(AND THE BEST LINE OF ALL!)

“They’re putting their tree on life support?”

It was great! Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well; I have lots of pictures but I’ll put them up later. I love you all

What we can learn from kids

Hey all you parents out there, don’t forget to learn from your kids to have fun!  Two days ago while i was waiting for the green walker-dude so i could cross the street, i watched a little 6yr old girl and her mom across the street.  The little girl was teaching her mom how to do a dance that was somewhere between a salsa and the hokey pokey.  it was the most adorable thing to watch.  kids know how to have fun, lets learn from them.  (this applies to everyone, whether they have kids or not)

Baby Talk

Handsome ZachBeautiful AndiAren’t my kids adorable? We tried to get some togetherness shots…it just didn’t work out. They love each other, but I think that they don’t want picture proof of the fact.

Anyway, did you know that Zach speaks three languages? The first is Zach-eze. He babbles in this one most frequently, especially when he’s pretending to talk on the phone. The second is the parent-eze. Everyday new words explode from him. Juice, truck, lamp…You have to be careful what you say to him! Lastly, he has his baby talk. It is about the cutest thing in the world when he talks to his sister! His voice gets high pitched as he coos and clucks for her. My baby’s speaking baby talk to my baby!

Oh, quick story about how much Zach loves his sister…he shares his candy with her! The other day Chris was eating M&Ms with him and the next thing he knows, Andi is drooling orange. How many two year olds do you know who willing share their M&Ms?

For more pictures, check out the site chrisandalison.name. I just didn’t want to overload the family dinner table…
